Sandra and Bob Stanton request prayers for the strength and courage to embrace the challenges presented by the continuing decline in Bob’s health. May they and their family members know of our prayers of concern and support. May they each feel the presence of our loving God beside them and within them as they continue their journey of care and love for Bob.

Here is an update on Kathy Schultz’s brother. “Doctors have determined that they will implant the heart pump February 21. This step will allow him to wait indefinitely for a transplant, have a better quality of life in the meantime and grow stronger so that he can handle transplant surgery. I deeply appreciate the constancy and prayers of everyone who is lifting this situation to God.” Thank you. Kathy

Prayers of comfort and support are requested for the family and friends of Tom Lilly. Tom, a long time member of Newman parish, died this morning. Through our prayers we ask God to welcome Tom into His eternal embrace. May the grief of his family and friends be eased knowing of our prayerful concern for Tom and for them.

This prayer request is an update from Kathy Schultz regarding her brother. He had tests all day Friday in Rochester. Tests show that he is too weak to wait indefinitely for a heart or to survive the surgery. They want to implant a pump which will relieve the strain on his heart. Immediate goal is to get him stronger to handle the implant surgery. Please pray that the medical staff involved be guided to find the best treatment for Kathy’s brother. May Kathy and her entire family feel the support of Newman parish.

Kathy Schultz is requesting prayers for her brother Mark. Her family just learned that he has been placed on a list at Mayo in Rochester for a heart transplant. Despite all the surgeries, treatments, and efforts of his doctors over the last 30 years, this is apparently the only option left. He will be 69 tomorrow. He was exposed to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. Blessings upon Mark, Kathy and her family.

The following is a note and prayer of thanksgiving from Kathy Smith:
I just wanted to pass along my thanks and gratitude to the members of Newman for all the prayers during my recent surgery and recovery. All went well with the surgery and the recovery and I was cleared to return to normal activity and work last week. I am truly blessed to be a part of this Newman community. Thank you and blessings to all.

I will be having surgery on Wednesday, July 26th. A mass was discovered. Thankfully, the preliminary test results showed that it was a non cancerous mass. If all goes well, I will be good as new in about 6 weeks. I would appreciate prayers of thanks and of hope for continued positive results. Thank you all so much. Blessings.
