Works of Mercy

At the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy (December 8, 2015 to November 20, 2016), Pope Francis encouraged the development of programs or institutions to be a lasting testament to the Jubilee Year.  At Newman Parish we developed a program called Works of Mercy for our K-8 grades.  Each grade is assigned one of the corporal works of mercy and spends time learning about it and putting it into action in our community at some point during the year.  Community organizations that students have volunteered at in the past include St. Francis Food Pantry, The King's Closet, Beacon House, and Heatherwood Assisted Living.  Information is shared directly with parents about the dates and activities, questions can be directed to
